Norris Aquatic Center

Naples, Collier County, Florida

Hole Montes, Inc. provided the engineering services to the Collier County YMCA for the development of the Norris Aquatic Center. Hole Montes prepared the site plan of the pool complex that also included vehicular parking and utility extensions. The firm obtained the required county site development permits as well as state stormwater management and utility extension permits.

Hole Montes developed the specifications for the 50 meter pool and worked with the owner’s pool contractor, Weller Pools, in producing an aquatic facility that met the YMCA’s goal and objectives for use that included configuring the pool to conform to US Swimming, YMCA and NCAA competitive standards. The facility provides ten 50 meter swimming lanes or twenty-two 25 yard lanes. It supports diving competitions and can accommodate two 1 meter and a 3 meter diving boards.

The state of the art filtration system utilizes geothermal systems for heating and cooling the pool waters. With this new facility, YMCA is able to host long and short course meets for local and high school swim teams as well as provide a training facility for college level competitors.
