GA Terminal Complex at Page Field Airport

Fort Myers, Florida

The general aviation apron and terminal at Page Field Airport had reached capacity and the Lee County Port Authority desired to create a new terminal complex in the undeveloped west quadrant of the airport. The complex is intended to service itinerant aircraft. Hole Montes was assigned the initial task of creating a conceptual plan for the full build-out of the quadrant that included taxiways, aprons, terminal building, bulk hangar, federal inspection station, vehicle parking, access road and outparcels. The terminal building was designed to convey a historical theme with an architectural character dating back to the 1940’s and the early days of Page Field operations. The Hole Montes team was then assigned to complete the design and permit the entire development, packaged as seven separate construction projects. The first package included two parallel taxiways and a major portion of the stormwater management infrastructure and was constructed in 2007. Construction of the terminal building and bulk hangar, along with new landscaped entrance road and vehicle parking was completed in 2011.

The project included photovoltaic solar panels on the hangar roof which provides nearly one third of the power for the terminal building. The terminal complex named Base Ops provides a highly efficient and state of the art facility to welcome and serve the flying public to our paradise.
